Atao Reserve Red Blend's identity made the cut on Packaging of the World, one of packaging design's most followed sites for inspiration. Atao is the newest wine from Polkura Winery in Chile's Colchagua Valley, a full-bodied blend aged twelve months in French white oak barrels, carrying notes of black and red fruit alongside vanilla and toffee from the wood itself.
"All Tied Up In The Moment," the Atao campaign wheatpasted onto a city wall
The name is Chilean slang for being tied up, the same sense as “I'm tied up” in English, and the identity is built to connote the exact moment of relaxation the wine proposes once you finally sit down with a glass. The logotype runs the whole idea through a single handmade signature, its letters intertwined into each other, gold foil stamped onto black so the mark catches the eye before a word is read.

The same signature travels from the cork to the barrel head, burned into the oak the wine spent a year resting in and foil-stamped onto every bottle, coaster and gift box the brand touches. Packaging of the World picked it up as proof that a name born from slang can still carry the weight of a premium label, gold on black doing the convincing a tasting note usually has to do alone.
