ConnectArt Tattoo's identity made the cut for Scripted, a custom lettering book published by Sandu and edited by Wang Shaoqiang that collects hand-drawn type from graphic designers and typographers around the world. The brief behind the mark was to connect tattoo artists from all over the world into a single studio, housed in a rotating format, a place where numerous styles of professional tattoo artists could be recognized nationally and internationally.
The system is built entirely from a typography developed exclusively for the ConnectArt logo: the word ART, stylized and centered inside the mark, wraps around the curve of CONNECT to form a single interlocking composition. Gold on a black ground carries the refinement and sophistication the studio wanted its environment to read, from the storefront sign to the business card in a client's hand.
Scripted is structured into collections, single lettering, lettering on objects and lettering in space, and ConnectArt Tattoo's wordmark sits in the lettering-on-objects chapter, carried across signage, apparel and stationery. The same hand-lettered mark built to hold its own on a lit storefront sign reads just as clearly foil-stamped on a printed page.

"A hand-lettered wordmark, gold on black, built to read as clearly on a storefront as it does on a printed page."
